Visceral Games was an American video game development studio and subsidiary of Electronic Arts, located in Redwood City, California. The studio was first formed as EA Redwood Shores in 1998. After the massive success of the studio's Dead Space franchise in 2009, it was renamed Visceral Games to differentiate themselves from their parent company.[2]

In May 2013, The Walt Disney Company and Electronic Arts entered an agreement that allowed Electronic Arts to create Star Wars games. In a press release, it was announced that Visceral Games would be developing a Star Wars game. The game currently is untitled, and has no release date.[3] In July 2015, it was announced that Visceral Games had partnered with fellow Electronic Arts subsidiary Motive Studios to continue development on their Star Wars project.[4] The studio was shut down in October of 2017.[1]
