Type of vodka

[edit]

What is the basis for saying that potato vodka is usually considered an inferior type of vodka? User:64.60.140.146 16:50, 23 August 2006

I was wondering the same thing. Shrine to Spirits mentions "Potato vodka is usually regarded as inferior" in another review of a luxury potato vodka. All About Vodka says "connoisseurs tend to consider potato vodka inferior". Answers.com, on their whiskey article, say: "Inferior whiskeys are made from potatoes, beets, and other roots". Perhaps there's a historical bias against root-based products? Unmake 08:13, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Potato Vodkas are normally considered the better type of Vodka since grain vodkas are made with everything from barley to corn and have a less standard taste

I'm doing edits to remove that because the google search I ran shows nothing but the opposite attitude. Check out the rankings for Luksusowa. Krupo 08:18, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An article on Slate reviewing several premium vodkas doesn't seem to rate potato-based vodkas any worse than grain or grape vodkas. By the way, I added the db-spam tag, this could hardly by a more blatant advertisement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.108.249.83 (talk) 18:23, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
