Bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh
The People's Republic of Bangladesh recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the 30th of December 1991.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on the 26th of February 1992.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, paid a visit to Bangladesh to attend the 45th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Dhaka on the 5th to the 6th of May 2018.
On the 3rd to the 6th of April 2018, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Mr Shahriyar Alam, visited Azerbaijan to attend the 18th Midterm Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Baku and met with Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
