- Seems to be a derivative work of toys. See Commons:COM:DW#I know that I can't upload photos of copyrighted art (like paintings and statues), but what about toys? Toys are not art!. Stefan2 (talk) 13:24, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Exactly what aspect of Commons:COM:DW#Isn't every product copyrighted by someone? What about cars? Or kitchen chairs? My computer case? would save this image? The reason isn't stated in the previous request and the object looks like a toy whereas the mentioned section deals with utilitarian objects. --Stefan2 (talk) 22:26, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I would say this part "Legally, most toys are art." is the best shot. It says "most" but not "all". Mickey Mouse, Asterix and Pokémon is mentioned as examples that is not ok. Probably because they are very easy to recognize and because their look is important and they are carefully designed the way they are. In this case I'm not sure if it is important how the dolls look. I asume the important is what the person says and does with the dolls. But not an easy case. I don't know what I would do here. --MGA73 (talk) 18:56, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Keep All original toys. ObtundTalk 22:50, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep The puppets are clearly included in context. The portrait is of Padhye doing what Padhye does; there are many such photos with him holding his puppets, and these do not infringe on the rights of the person who owns the puppet. See this Commons policy. This is clearly a very different photograph to, say, this one, where we would have to take into account the rights of the individual who owns the copyrights of the puppet's design (that said, most of the protection may well come from trademarks, as opposed to copyrights). - I concur with the above that since it's a photo of Satyajit Padhye with his puppets, and not just of the puppets, it should be fine. However, the uploader's upload history looks suspicious, with a bunch of inconsistent/missing EXIFs. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 04:14, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- No freedom of panorama for signs in the United States. Stefan2 (talk) 14:29, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm not an expert on U.S. intellectual property law, so I'll leave the decision on whether or not this is in violation to them. It is just a clearly nonprofessional snapshot of a sign to bring more information to the article without any intent of profiting from the image. 72Dino (talk) 16:24, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- I have been part of the Occupy Buffer Zone movement for a long time, and have taken the task of enriching Wikipedia on the subject based on sound documentation. The material that was uploaded is not owned by anyone individually or collectively. They are shown publicly, and are under no copyrights, because the movement does not view such copyright laws as necessarily or desirable for its function. If Wikipedia however does not accept this statement or position as legitimate, please inform me if an online statement granting me permission on my Wikipedia's account name for the uploading of leaflets and pictures on the commons is enough for the copyright issue to be resolved. - Do you have any source for the above copyright claim? Also note that the image is unused and likely out of scope, so maybe it should be deleted regardless of its copyright status. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:46, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The image is used as a primary source here: Occupy Buffer Zone. As I said, I would have to gain a statement from the movement granting me the rights I specified above, to avoid these problems. - Not sure what the ongoing controversy regarding the image is. I am the uploader and owner of the image...obviously, there's no particular way to prove that I am, well, me in this context. :-) You can review my use history and clean record as a wikipedian of many years' standing (albeit one with not much technological or bureaucratic expertise). However, I have repeatedly asked for a more experienced editor to help me solve any labeling issues with this image. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Sfan00_IMG#Would_love_some_help_from_an_.22experienced_editor.22.21 This image has been flagged and de-flagged a number of times, and I'd love to resolve this issue. Please let me know if there are any concrete steps I can take. Withnail68 (talk) 15:47, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- More to the point, perhaps: as far as I can tell, absolutely no one has at any point challenged my ownership of this image--or its use here--except for, well, robots. Certainly no one has made a counter-claim of any kind. Res ipsa loquitur. Withnail68 (talk) 23:59, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The copy here predates the Wikipedia upload. See, for example, the archive from October 2007. It looks as if it needs permission from the owner of the bendeily.com website. --Stefan2 (talk) 00:10, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
