License tagging for Image:Hd poster final small.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hd poster final small.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:07, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: New User

Does the producer own the copyright to that particular website? If he/she explicitly declares on the site that the text is available under the GNU Free Documentation Licence or another licence that is compatible with the GFDL, that would make the text acceptable. The easiest/fastest way to deal with it is just to reword the paragraphs to your own words. That is ultimately a short-term solution but the text will eventually be changed and reworded by other editors contributing to the article. ~EnviroboyTalkContribs - 03:08, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thx. John Sayles (Honeydripper Director & Screenwriter) is my brother & Maggie Renzi (Producer) asked me to improve Honeydripper (film) Wiki. I will take your suggestion and paraphrase text.

Any suggestion re: the Film Poster image I tried to add from my Desktop? Is that blocked also? Just started trying to edit this evening and am confronting a steep learning curve. Honeydripper (talk) 03:19, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I took care of that by writing the fair use rationale. That basically means that even though the media is copyrighted, we can use it because we are only using for informational purposes and it will only be used in the Honeydripper (film) article. In this case, we have a Non-free poster template that provides a suitable rationale. ~EnviroboyTalkContribs - 03:53, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added a fair use rational template to the page but you need to update it and provide the source of the image. Just paste the original url into the "source=" section. If you did not get the image from an online source, describe where it came from in plain text. ~EnviroboyTalkContribs - 04:05, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thx for your patience. I took a second stab at fair use download with further clarification using "Theatrical poster for Honeydripper.jpg". Let me know if if this meets protocol. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this. I will delete the original upload if this is sourcing is adequate. Honeydripper (talk) 04:19, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found another copy of the poster on http://www.emergingpictures.com/honeydripper.htm and after scaling it down to less than 0.1megapixels, I reuploaded it to Image:Hd_poster_final_small.jpg. The newer version that you uploaded isn't necessary so I will tag it for speedy deletion. If you need to change it, there is no need to upload it again. Just go the the page that I linked and edit it there. You can even upload a new version of the same image under the same filename on that page. I already linked the lower-res version to the Honeydripper (film) article.
VoABot is just giving you a hard time because you linked to the example image. It automatically reverts what it identifies as test edits so don't worry about it. Happy editing. ~EnviroboyTalkContribs - 04:55, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, that was me. I tagged it for speedy speedy deletion because we already have a copy of the same image. Happy editing. ~EnviroboyTalkContribs - 05:03, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
