Discovery abbreviation is often STD

[edit]

Most people I know use STD as the abbreviation for Star Trek Discovery. I vote for it being listed as an alternate, or to replace it completely. Brian (talk) 17:59, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This list should be the official abbreviations, not whatever "most people [you] know use". It think, given the way certain people think about Discovery, it is obvious why "STD" is used by them and why that is not used officially. - adamstom97 (talk) 20:06, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, we should use 'LDS' instead of 'LDX', 'VGR' instead of 'VOY', and 'DSC' instead of 'DIS'. 'LDX' seems wholly a Wikipedia invention (Memory Alpha uses 'LD', which is also incorrect), and 'VOY' and 'DIS' are, rather than the actual production abbreviations, just what is commonly used by the fandom. 'SHO' also seems to be a Wikipedia invention; most other sources use 'ST', and I can't find an official production abbreviation for it. (may I add, I'm also against 'STD', just arguing for consistency) 2600:8801:C900:10B:B03F:65CD:3F4C:2BAE (talk) 23:55, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
