- Frequently, some pages transcluding {{Admin dashboard}} are going on overflow and appear at Category:Pages_where_post-expand_include_size_is_exceeded.
This Template:Admin dashboard/light has been rewritten by including directly all the parts that were dispersed in so many sub-templates. - The "leaks out boxes" error has been fixed.

- Aafi, no need for emails. Just give a clear explanation right here as to why this is a username violation. I tried Google Translate and it did not indicate anything offensive, but machine translation is not good at slang and idioms. Cullen328 (talk) 08:29, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Cullen328, cool. Jhelumi is a slang often used against Muhammad Ali Mirza, whilst also being an indicative of someone who comes from Jhelum. But in this case, it simply refers as "father of Jhelumi, here referring to Mirza". I hope this makes some sense. Regards, Aafi (talk) 08:32, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

Current requests for increase in protection level
[edit]Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: Vandalism from half a dozen IPs within the past month, including three within the past week, for an obviously contentious topic in an area under active arbitration remedies. There are six weeks left until the election, and it is reasonable to expect increasing vandalism from all ends of the political spectrum until that event, and that vandals will lose interest in this page thereafter, no matter the outcome. I propose s-protection for that six week span. BD2412 T 12:16, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

GnocchiFan has made 5,000+ edits this year alone including seven Good Articles. They make extensive use of WMF Library to improve sourcing and prose. I believe they are both an excellent editor and also communicator, evident at sensitive article topics at 1984 anti-Sikh riots and Gender and sexual minorities in the Ottoman Empire. In short, let's reduce NPP backlog by giving them auto-patrolled status. ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 12:11, 20 September 2024 (UTC)

I would like to introduce another editor with a strong history of editing and article creation. They have created 2,114 articles, including 2 GAs. Their creations include BLPs, which are essential for obtaining the AP flag. Only one of their articles was deleted in 2023 via AfD, and others are G6. Since then, no articles have been deleted. I believe it would be beneficial to grant them this right to help reduce the NPP backlog. GrabUp - Talk 13:27, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- I found out after nominating that they had previously been granted AP by MusikAnimal, but it was later revoked in 2022 by Primefac due to copyright violations. I am not withdrawing the nomination, as it was two years ago, and the issue may have been resolved, so let’s see if they can be trusted now. GrabUp - Talk 13:42, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- (Non-admin comment, but I'm bored) I spot checked their most recent creation,Anthony Michael Hillas, made after this request. Compared to the source [1]
Hillas returned to the University of Leeds in 1959 as a lecturer and made it understood that he refused to be assigned duties similar to those he performed at Harwell
He returned to Leeds in 1959 as a lecturer making it understood that he would not work on the embryonic air-shower experiment
His Monte Carlo computer program, MOCCA, for high-energy air shower studies, was used extensively in the design of the Pierre Auger Observatory.
His final Monte Carlo program for high-energy shower studies, known as MOCCA, was used extensively in the design of what became the Pierre Auger Observatory.
He collected rocks, pebbles, and fossils and keenly followed radio and television programs on geology.
He collected rocks, pebbles and fossils and avidly followed radio and TV programs dealing with geology.
- Spotchecking more, like Thomas Wallace (horticulturalist) to [2], reveals similar issues
After sufficient recovery from his wounds, Wallace was assigned to the Anti-Gas Department of the Royal Engineers
When he had recovered sufficiently from his wounds Wallace, was seconded to the Royal Engineers for service in the Anti-Gas Department.
When the land to be sloughed up had a soil type which might prove deficient in some minerals, Wallace recommended the use of indicator plots.

Seems to be an experienced content creator whose creations are no longer in need of input from NPP. They don't have a clean record of their articles being kept at AfD, but the last deletion was a year and half and 60 articles ago, and looking through a random sampling of their work since then doesn't reveal any major issues. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:50, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

I am requesting file mover rights because I have experience in handling and maintaining various file types and I believe my contributions to several files and my various file rename requests as seen in the editing history here showcase my understanding of the naming policy for files. File names are often a decent part of my contributions with film and television-related articles, and carrying out these renames to satisfy naming conventions rather than having to request them every time a file needs to be renamed would prove beneficial in their up-keeping. Hi, as part of working at AfC I come across submissions on editors main userpage or sandbox that need to be cleanly moved to draft (i.e. without leaving a redirect). I stopped moving such submissions years ago as if the editor starts another article I was then the creator rather the actual creator which never seemed right to me. It would also be useful for when new editors create/move drafts to the Wikipedia or Template namespaces either in error or attempting to promote/spam. I frequently make/request moves – usually either making titles WP:CONCISE, or draftifying/fixing typos in titles as part of WP:NPP. I would like to be able to handle more of these myself, including WP:R2 suppression, but especially WP:MONOTYPICFAUNA pageswaps. These usually require updating the categories afterward, which will be much easier if I'm doing the pageswap myself, rather than remembering to come back once my request at WP:RM/T is carried out. Speaking of which, I've really appreciated WP:RM/T, and if I'm granted the pagemover right I intend to "give back" by handling requests there. jlwoodwa (talk) 01:09, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

I've been doing RC Patrolling (as a part of Anti-Vandalism) on Wikipedia for a while now, and I think that having the Pending Changes reviewer permission could be a good idea - there have been numerous instances involving a pending changes edit that I look at while looking through Special:RecentChanges that i wanted to accept/deny/etc, and i feel that this permission would be beneficial for my efficeincy. While I haven't been editing for very long (only a few months), I have rollback rights and frequently revert vandalism. I also review Redirects for Creation, which is under pending changes protection. I've read the guidelines on reviewing pending changes. LR.127 (talk) 17:18, 22 September 2024 (UTC)

I've been patrolling recent changes for a while now and frequently revert vandalism. However, I often come across constructive edits that I can't do much about. For this reason, I would like to have the pending changes reviewer tool to mark these edits as reviewed and broadly acceptable for public view , allowing me to take on new tasks. Hi! I believe that I'd be a good Pending Changes Reviewer, as I have a good amount of time on my hands, and can do monotonous tasks, like denying obvious vandalism, and the like. I meet, what I believe are all the requirements for this right, and humbly ask to receive this privilege. Thanks in advance! Legendbird (talk) 09:06, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

Reason for requesting pending changes reviewer rights: I am an Wikipedian for more than three years and part of various wikiprojects I need permission to expand my works on Wikipedia and also to observe Wikipedia articles. Cactinites (talk) 15:28, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

- Not done I asked you to spend a month gaining experience. It's been ~2 weeks since I declined your previous request. Sorry, but that's just not enough experience for me to determine whether you'll be able to use the tool appropriately. -Fastily 05:17, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Fastily sorry. can spend a month on October 10, 2024? †TyphoonAmpil† (💬 - 📝 - 🌀 - Tools) 07:16, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

I am active on English Wikipedia, primarily editing articles related to Sri Lanka. During the recent presidential election, I encountered multiple instances of vandalism and disruptive editing on related pages, necessitating the reversion of several edits along with sucessful requests for page protection. However, resolving these issues proved challenging due to edit conflicts, which prevented a simple undo and required manual corrections that were both tedious and time-consuming. Given the contentious nature of the period and the number of significant upcoming events, I would appreciate being granted rollback rights to better combat vandalism and disruptive editing. - Not done You don't need rollback to undo inappropriate edits. If you're still interested in this tool then please spend at least a month actively patrolling RecentChanges (Twinkle & Ultraviolet can help with that) before reapplying. Also, please ensure that you are consistently warning editors when you revert their edits. Thanks, Fastily 05:17, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
