Wikipedia generically uses the term or title "Brigade Manager" to describe officers of the fire service whom have obtaied the rank of Cheif Fire Officer or County Fire Officer in the UK Fire Service.
The term or title "Brigade Manager" has not been widely accepted and does not reflect true accuracy. WMFRS claim to be second largest fire service in the UK (primary sournce claim). I have removed this from the lead because it is not clear on what basis this claim is made. If you look at HMICFRS data for both WMFRS (WM data) and Greater Manchester FRS (GM data) you will see that WMFRS covers a larger population. However, GMFRS covers a large area, has more stations, more fire engines and more firefighters per 1,000 population. I'm OK if the second largest claim is "WMFRS covers the second largest population outside of London", but otherwise it's clear there's no way it can make any other claim to be the second largest in the country. 10mmsocket (talk) 06:52, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
