Stats

[edit]

Any chance of getting statistics for these in active duty? Ie, how many were used in vietnam? How many were lost?

Rhodesia's RhAF and Central Intelligence Organization also operated the O-2, though they called it the Lynx and it was armed a bit heavier than the O-2 was in Vietnam. 68.202.55.186 05:57, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why were the specs removed?

[edit]

Doesn't look like vandalism. Why were they removed? Rsduhamel 05:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"B.S. BOMBER"

[edit]

I would like the fact that this aircraft (O-2B) was nicknamed the "B.S. Bomber" included in this article, It is quoted from the book "Wings for the world II" by William D. Thompson. I have heard that term for this aircraft at Oshkosh, and many other airshows. I added it before but it was done wrong (sorry), so I will let the experts do the Editing this time.. thank you BIGTAZ351W (talk) 04:08, 3 July 2008 (UTC)BIGTAZ351W, 7-02-2008[reply]

THanks for the book information. If you can give me the page number and edition (year published) of the book, that would help a lot. I should be able to find the ISBN number and the rest of the needed info online, but if you have that too, it would be fine. Thanks. - BillCJ (talk) 06:07, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The ISBN is 0-89288-257-3, the page number is 73,It was published in 1995, second paragraph on the left side, last sentce. "It was affectionately known as the 'Bullshit Bomber.'" I apologize for the tardiness of my response. BIGTAZ351W —Preceding unsigned comment added by BIGTAZ351W (talkcontribs) 15:55, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Remove UNrelated aircraft

[edit]

It seems to me that the Adam A500 is not really related to the O-2 except that centerline thrust is used. I'm not sure why the AVE Mizar is included as if it were an actual production aircraft, it was a marketing stunt by a car dealer as far as I know. Altaphon (talk) 07:40, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect that is why the A500 is here, just another push-pull design. These can be safely cleaned up. - Ahunt (talk) 10:14, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Army O-2 Skymaster

[edit]

Article states that 2 Navy airframes were transferred to the Army in 1990. It appears that 68-11149 and 68-11150 were transferred from the USAF to Army service. They appear to have been at Tempelhof in 1978.
