1 Jan.

It is suprising that Boris was born and died on the same day, the first of Jan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.97.194.200 (talk) 15:56, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

It's not that surprising, the odds of it happening are roughly 1 in 365. At the current world population, someone dies on their birthday roughly every 2 minutes. -- Arwel Parry (talk) 12:07, 1 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
The fact it was the very first day of the year makes it notable. There are maybe only a handful of other dates that would be notable, like maybe October 25 because of his connection to the Soviet Union, or either Stalin's birthday or the day of his death. It is far less likely that his birth/death day are both one of these notable days. 128.135.98.213 (talk) 02:27, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

The source "St.Louis Post-Dispatch" is cited frequently for the sub-section "Stalin's assistance" and to make the following statements. 1) Bazhanov recorded notes from a Central Committee meeting with Lenin, Stalin and Trotsky in which Lenin offered to appoint Trotsky as his heir. 2) This meeting happened on 26 October 2023.

I have read the Danilov article which verifies Trotsky's 1923 committee speech and declining the position of deputy chairman. However, I found no supporting reference in Danilov's article to the meeting between Lenin, Stalin and Trotsky or Lenin stating he was a "heir".

Hence, I would request if any other user can verify the claims of the St.Louis article and make that accessible to wider readers via Wayback machine or an alternative source since the current link is broken.

@ASuntag you created this article and cited the content. Could you possibly in this endeavour ?
