For over half a decade, Capcom joined forces with Marvel to produce a series of fighting games that would influence the genre for years to come. Between 1994 and 2000, seven titles saw arcade halls, bringing fan favorite characters from both universes together for high-octane clashes. This collection preserves those seminal works, reuniting gamers with old friends.
The partnership began in 1994. Led by Street Fighter designer Pom G, X-Men: Children of the Atom brought the mutant brawlers to beating up bad guys in true Capcom style. It introduced air combos and flashy specials that thrilled comic fans. The next year, 1995’s Marvel Super Heroes took the Infinity Gauntlet story to the stage, adding dynamic power-ups to the action. Things got chaotic real fast with 13 characters duking it out.
1996’s X-Men vs. Street Fighter brought the crossover concept, letting Wolverine slash up against Ryu. A tag-team system boosted creativity as players tagged in allies.

Jack Huston has joined the cast of Spider-Noir. He will star as a series regular alongside Nicolas Cage, who plays an “aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.” Cage first voiced the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
I’ve been re-watching Boardwalk Empire recently, and Huston is just phenomenal as Richard Harrow, a heartbreaking character who is one hell of a badass. Oftentimes, actors tend to delve so deeply into their roles to deliver the ultimate performance to viewers that their dedication is nothing short of sheerly commendable. If anything, some actors have even especially proven perfection in this field as they embrace the “darkness” of it all and stay in character even between scenes. Like Marvel’s Jon Bernthal.
Effortlessly enough, Bernthal’s name is one of the top names that come under this category, famous for his performance as the iconic Punisher in the super-verse for the tellies. But while he is one actor to be so creative while working, he isn’t the only one as three other actors from the MCU have also shown brilliance in working this way: Donald Glover, Jared Leto, and James Franco.

It seems The Fantastic Four: First Steps has taken a break from filming, with star Vanessa Kirby attending the Toronto International Film Festival to promote her new film, Ron Howard's Eden, which also stars Ana de Armas and Sydney Sweeney.
The Mission: Impossible actress - who will play Sue Storm/Invisible Woman in the Marvel Studios reboot - was asked for an update on production on the red carpet of the Eden world premiere, and while she didn't share anything particularly exciting, it sounds like things are going very well and "Marvel's First Family" are all getting on as well as one would hope.
“We love each other so much. I’ve been away from them for two days and I miss them," said Kirby. "We’re having such great time together. I’m really hopeful for the movie and Matt Shakman is amazing and Pedro [Pascal] is heavenly.

Thanks to The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, we have some exciting rumours about Marvel Studios' plans for its street-level superheroes.
Before we get into the juicy stuff, the scooper shares a small update on plans for Hawkeye season 2. He reveals that one of the main ideas right now is for Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop to have a much larger role in the series. However, it's only "in development" and not officially greenlit.
As for Daredevil, the McU's Man Without Fear will supposedly become "a gateway to new stories for street superheroes." Some of the possibilities being considered for future projects are team-ups with Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight and Florence Pugh's Black Widow.
Before that happens, we have two seasons of Daredevil: Born Again to look forward to; Bullseye and The Punisher are both going to appear in season 2 if this report is to be believed, with Frank Castle...

Many Marvel fans expected Doctor Doom's arrival at the MCU after the fallout with Jonathan Majors who played Kang the Conqueror. What probably no one was expecting was Robert Downey Jr.'s return, as Doctor Doom.
The announcement during 2024's San Diego Comic-Con definitely turned heads and shook the very core of the MCU. Many are ecstatic whereas others are confused as Downey Jr.'s MCU role had been Iron Man and last we checked, he died a most heroic death.

In the build-up to Deadpool and Wolverine's release, numerous character cameo rumors did the rounds, and one name that popped up quite a lot was our second big-screen take on Frank Castle, Thomas Jane.
The actor, who only made a single appearance as the ultra-violent vigilante in 2004's The Punisher, was rumored to reprise his role along with the likes of Wesley Snipes (Blade), Jennifer Garner (Elektra), and Dafne Keen (X-23), but Jane has now confirmed that he was never contacted about a potential return during an interview with The Direct.
Jane also shared his thoughts on Jon Bernthal's current incarnation of Frank Castle, who he feels is a better fit for the character.
"I like [Jon] Bernthal's Punisher. I think, you know, for me, it was always a little bit of a stretch. Frank Castle is supposed to be an Italian American. I'm not. I'm an Irish American.

It also did the classic thing of going bigger than its predecessor, with larger action set pieces and more characters from throughout the Marvel universe -- most notably, the time-traveling mutant Cable, a fan-favorite from the comics who was played by Josh Brolin in the film. But before Brolin landed the part, a certain WWE superstar auditioned for the role.
Randy Orton, aka The Viper, was recently a guest on the WWE talk show "What Do You Wanna Talk About?" During the conversation, the longtime staple of the ring revealed that he auditioned for the role of Cable, which would have been by far his biggest foray into Hollywood to date. As Orton explained in the interview, his journey with the character was a short one:
"I do auditions here and there.

Yesterday evening, the news broke that J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot have inexplicably managed to sign a new multi-year film and TV deal with Warner Bros.
The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker filmmaker has produced little to nothing for the studio since signing a $250 million deal in 2019 (including a now-scrapped slate of Justice League Dark TV shows) but according to Puck, this new contract will be for significantly less money.
Elsewhere in the piece, various updates are shared about similar deals, including Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller's partnership with Sony Pictures Television.
The duo signed a five-year, nine-figure TV deal with the studio in 2019, with the idea being that they'd oversee a slate of Spider-Man projects on streaming. Despite Sony's habit of producing terrible Marvel movies like Morbius and Madame Web, this partnership generated a fair bit of excitement among fans.

It seems Charlie Cox’s Daredevil won’t be the only member of Netflix’s Defenders lineup making the jump to the MCU.
From the moment Marvel first announced Daredevil: Born Again, fans have been eagerly anticipating the possible returns of other members of the Marvel-Netflix universe to make the transition into the MCU via this new chapter.
At first, it seemed like Marvel was perhaps trying to distance itself from that particular chapter when it was reported that most of the Daredevil ensemble wouldn’t appear in the Daredevil: Born Again, but that’s since changed with several members of the cast set to appear including The Punisher star Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, a role he first originated in Daredevil.

Garth Ennis has written some great, popular comic books over the years, with some of his work including the creation of the books Preacher and The Boys, and fan favorite runs on Marvel’s The Punisher. Preacher and The Boys have both gotten TV series adaptations, and ideas from Ennis’s Punisher books have made it to the screen. Now The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that the Ennis-created horror comic Crossed is also getting an adaptation, with the independent company Six Studios picking up the rights to make a film based on the series.
Ennis has written the screenplay for the Crossed film, and Six Studios is searching for a director. They’re planning to put together a budget in $2 million to $3 million range for the project… but if the right talent comes on board, the budget could be increased. The hope is that, no matter who ends...

It’s good news for fans of Netflix’s Daredevil after Charlie Cox confirms one thing about Daredevil: Born Again. After the CGI-heavy action in the superhero genre, Daredevil provided a refreshing change by including grounded action sequences. The series did it in style in the second episode of the first season, where they included a single-shot fight sequence.

The series continued its iconic tradition in seasons two and three and even upped the stakes in the prison fight scene in the third season. As Cox’s blind superhero makes a return, fans will get to see such one-shot or one-take action sequences in the upcoming MCU series.

For the longest time, we didn't anticipate ever seeing Charlie Cox's Daredevil in the MCU. Then, within 18 months, he appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Echo, and signed up to lend his voice to Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and lead Daredevil: Born Again.
The future looks bright for the Man Without Fear and, along with a second season of his revival series, we also anticipate seeing the character in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Talking at FanExpo Chicago this weekend, Cox reflected on making his MCU debut alongside Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home and shared his hopes to reunite with the web-slinger somewhere down the line.

While onscreen, it’s the thugs, which crosses Punisher’s path, that have difficulty keeping their noses intact, off-screen it’s the other way around. From his violent gigs in The Walking Dead and Netflix’s The Punisher, which pushed him to stardom, to his life outside of showbiz, violence has been a notable aspect of Jon Bernthal’s career and life.
Although things changed for the better after he received three years of probation and a $2 million civil lawsuit for injuring a hostile man gravely, it didn’t stop his commitment to taking hits for the gig. Despite demolishing a plethora of walkers and enemies onscreen, he has broken his nose an extraordinary amount of times throughout his Hollywood run so far.

Charlie Cox revealed to People magazine that he was first contacted by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about a potential return as Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe all the way back in 2020. It would take another two years before the studio announced “Daredevil: Born Again,” although by then Cox had already popped up as the character in a cameo in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” The actor became convinced during those two years that he’d just never get his own “Daredevil” series again.
“We stopped shooting the original show at the end of 2016, beginning of 2018 and found out it was canceled somewhere in that period,” Cox said about his original stint playing Daredevil on the Netflix series of the same name, which ran for three seasons between 2015 and 2018. “And then it wasn’t until midway through 2020 that we got a phone call from Kevin saying that they were interested in bringing the characters back.

Following the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Wesley Snipes is rightfully getting some late recognition for his work in the Y2K era Blade films, but there’s another early-2000s Marvel pioneer who deserves some praise as well. Thomas Jane, who portrayed the title character in 2004’s The Punisher, was part of the same generation of early Marvel films that showed there was a massive market for superhero properties. Along with Jane’s Punisher – X-Men (2000), Elektra (2005), and yes even Ben Affleck’s Daredevil (2003) walked so the juggernaut known as the MCU could run only a few years later.

Writers and showrunners were changed to make the series more connected with its first three seasons on Netflix.

We haven’t even seen the new “Daredevil: Born Again” show on Disney+ and we have reports from D23 that it has already been renewed for a second season.
Yesterday, a teaser was released at D23, but for some reason, Disney isn’t letting people share it. This seems counterintuitive to me.

The Marvel Studios portion of D23's "Disney Entertainment Showcase" is over and the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again is finally here...albeit, unofficially.
The full teaser has leaked online tonight and is bound to only further increase excitement for the Daredevil revival. Along with a first look at White Tiger, we see The Punisher's reunion with Matt Murdock, Bullseye behind bars, and the Man Without Fear's many costumes.
There's also a suitably tense exchange between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk and a surprise appearance from Ms. Marvel and The Marvels star Mohan Kapur as Kamala Khan's father, Yusuf.
The action scenes look every bit as hard-hitting as we'd hoped and an appearance from Foggy Nelson and Karen Page is sure to be welcomed.
"Marvel had been incredibly open-minded and willing to correct course, and incredibly supportive," Charlie Cox recently said of Daredevil: Born Again's creative overhaul.

Disney previously announced that “Daredevil: Born Again” will launch on Disney+ in March 2025 — but no, during D23 2024 on Friday, the company didn’t reveal the specific date the Marvel Studios reboot starring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will premiere.
However, “Daredevil: Born Again” is almost here. And the super-sized Marvel Studios streaming series, which is about to start shooting its second season, showed off some brand-new footage from the show’s first season. And it’s a whopper.
While the footage was very quick, it provided some pretty great glimpses of Kingpin (D’Onofrio), perched on top of a building like a snarling gargoyle; Daredevil taking a beating to some very bad guys; and an interaction between Daredevil and the Punisher (a returning Jon Bernthal).
It should be recorded that there are noticeably fewer low budget hallway fights. And the whole thing feels much more mature and complicated than your average...

Cox, D’Onofrio, Bernthal and Woll all appeared at the panel to debut the trailer, which was not immediately made available for fans to watch online. The footage showed the violent scope of the series,...

Wow. This isn’t your Netflix’s Daredevil. Visceral, cinematic, bloody — this is a Daredevil in the way that James Bond got a reboot with Daniel Craig.
The first look at the series was revealed Friday for the crowd at D23 in Anaheim.
And there’s a big homage to Heat with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent Donofiro’s Kingpin meeting in a diner to verbally draw their boundaries.
“If you step out of line, I’m going to be there,” says Murdock.
Kingpin, laughing, wonders if it’s Daredevil talking or Murdock.
In another shot, a prison inmate tells Murdock, “You don’t understand, people needed you.”

Deadpool & Wolverine features a long list of Variants, but not all are familiar faces from the past (even if the characters they play are instantly recognisable).
Toad, Psylocke, Azazel, Lady Deathstrike, The Russian, and more are all played by stuntpeople or lesser-known actors; whether that was because the original stars weren't interested in returning or a cost-saving exercise is unclear. Either way, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash wasn't approached about reprising his role from 2004's The Punisher.
Talking in the video below, the pro wrestler and actor was asked to share his thoughts on Billy Clements taking over as the formidable villain.
"That looks nothing like the character I played," Nash said after being shown a photo of the darker-haired Variant. "That looks nothing like The Russian. It looks like they gave somebody a favour."
"I love when people say, 'Oh, Nash is trolling for movie parts,'" he continued.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is, to an extent, integrating the stories and characters of the Netflix era Marvel shows. The shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher and The Defenders were all made in a partnership between Marvel Television and Netflix before Disney decided to create their own competing streaming platform.
Originally believed to have been wiped from continuity due to possible legal issues surrounding the shows’ ownership, it has been confirmed that both Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher will be returning.
However, whenever you leave a role behind for a little while, you are bound to get rusty. That is why many actors tend to train for a period of time to get back into the role. Bernthal is no different. For him, getting back into character was a big priority.
But what was surprising is that over the past year, Bernthal has...

Streaming is ephemeral. This is something TV fans realized in an abstract way about four years ago, when a boom of new streaming services led to more shows and movies playing licensing musical chairs. A documentary you like could be on Netflix or Hulu one month, only to disappear the next, later emerging on Max, Disney+, or somewhere else entirely. Tools like JustWatch, which keeps track of what's streaming where at any given moment, have become invaluable in recent years: It's simply too much for any one person to remember.
Despite the quickly normalized rotating catalogs, an unspoken social contract -- a promise that anything that a streamer boasted was "original and exclusive" would stay put -- still existed between streamers and subscribers until around 2022. Streamers may have quietly dumped some titles before this, but the practice made national news when Warner Bros. Discovery scrapped a reportedly nearly-completed movie and...

Longlegs star Nicolas Cage voiced the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man Noir in the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and now he’s set to play the character in live-action for an upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video series that’s going by the title Spider-Noir. Yesterday, we got our hands on a batch of character breakdowns that gave a preview of some of the characters we’ll be seeing on this show – and now Deadline has broken the news that Abraham Popoola has been added to the cast. Popoola’s previous credits include Atlas, Morbius, Andor, The Curse, and The Marvels. On Spider-Noir, Popoola will be playing “a World War I veteran who is looking for an opportunity to get ahead.” Unfortunately, none of the character breakdowns we saw mentioned anyone being a World War I veteran, so we still don’t know exactly who Popoola’s character is.
