Oh baby. You’d think lugging around a developing human being for nine months would be plenty of work on its own. But history has shown us it’s possible to be pregnant and perform stellar sketch comedy right up until the day you give birth.
Here are five funny cast members and hosts who proved that pregnancy and Saturday Night Live can be a fertile combination…
1 Amy Poehler
Poehler was pregnant when she performed her famous Hillary Clinton/Tina Fey sketch with Tina Fey. “When we were doing the sketch, Archie was doing somersaults in my stomach,” she says in Live From New York: The Complete, Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live, “I was thinking, ‘Wow, he knows this is really exciting.’”

Deborah Roberts didn’t allow her husband, Al Roker, to get away with a harsh remark as they celebrated 29 years of marriage on Monday.
The couple married on September 16, 1995, and they continue to support each other through their careers and life struggles.
Roberts appears as an ABC News anchor, sometimes filling in for Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, or George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America.
Meanwhile, her husband has risen to fame as NBC’s meteorologist and appears regularly on Today and Today Third Hour shows, opposite ABC’s morning show.
Roker has also hosted significant televised events, including NBC’s coverage of the annual Macy’s Day Parade and the Rose Bowl Parade.
Despite different networks, they’ve stayed strong through 29 years of marriage. However, banter between married couples is to be expected.
In several posts, Roker reflected on their marriage and even suggested his wife has some “questionable taste” in men,...

NBA stars have been omnipresent this offseason thanks to the incredible Olympics performance of the United States mens’ basketball team and Steph Curry’s sitcom debut in “Mr. Throwback.” But even if NBA fans didn’t have much of a chance to miss their favorite players, it’s hard to imagine anyone will complain about yet another chance to see some of the game’s biggest names in the final month before regular season play begins.

Kamala Harris picked up an endorsement from Taylor Swift mere minutes after tonight’s presidential debate with Donald Trump ended, but the “Cruel Summer” megastar wasn’t the only big name backing the vice president’s performance on Tuesday.
For Kerry Washington, Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill, Jimmy Kimmel, Pussy Riot, Mark Ruffalo, the Obamas, President Joe Biden and others, their reaction to the VP’s repeated baiting and slapping of a rambling and raging ex-president nothing short of joyous.
Scandal star and DNC host Washington was pretty straightforward in her praise of Harris’ stint at the ABC News-hosted debate:

Cate Blanchett thanked Knix, the underwear maker, for sponsoring her TIFF Tribute Award on Sunday night, which was ironic because the Elizabeth and Carol actress apparently went bottomless to the glittering festival event.
“I’m not actually wearing any underwear,” Blanchett revealed, jokingly or not, while wearing a long party dress on stage at the Royal York Hotel. “As Michelle Obama says, when I go low, you go high,” she added during a freestyle acceptance speech without the use of a teleprompter or her cellphone.
On a more serious note, Blanchett paid tribute to fellow women actors. “We have to keep asking questions that open locked doors and knowing our worth — our worth creatively as well as financially — as greater inclusivity on our sets leads to less homogenous and more vibrant storytelling,” she said.
“I think homogeneity is the enemy of everything we make,” Blanchett, also the star of Tár and Blue Jasmine,...

Is Melania Trump going to tell the truth in her new book, which is simply just titled ‘Melania?’ That’s what a lot of fans and critics alike can’t help but wonder, including her former personal assistant, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who has now become one of her most vocal critics.
After Donald Trump tried to promote his wife’s new book, it didn’t take Stephanie very long to weigh in on the matter.
Is Melania Trump Going To Tell The ‘Truth’ In Her New Book?

Prolific actress Sally Field has returned to the world of social media, saying Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris has restored her hope after Donald Trump used the digital platforms as “public toilet paper.”

Update, with response statements: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has dropped out of the presidential race, sort of, leaving his rocky Independent campaign behind and aligning the iconically Democrat name with the Republican party of Donald Trump.
“In an honest system, I believe that I would have won the election,” he said today, running counter to polls but sounding very Trumpian, with talks of “sham” primaries and a “palace coup” against Joe Biden. He castigated Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris for not yet granting media interviews, a common Republican talking point in recent weeks.
Kennedy didn’t quite end his campaign, but says he’s merely suspending it and will remain on ballots in some battleground states. While at one point insisting quixotically that it’s still possible he might end up in the White House, he also said, “In my heart, I no longer believe I have a...

Bad blood appears to abound between supporters for Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump heading into November’s tight presidential election. While both sides have enlisted varying degrees of star power at their respective national conventions, there appears to be one figure whose endorsement the two candidates seemingly covet: Taylor Swift.
Trump took to social media recently to share phony images generated by artificial intelligence suggesting that Swift and her fans support him, with the former president writing, “I accept!” Swift, who previously criticized Trump for “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism,” has yet to endorse either candidate. But given that the pop superstar has asserted her position as one of the most widely known and popular entertainers on the planet with her record-breaking Eras Tour, it’s clear that her support would be heard.

Kamala Harris leaves Chicago today with energy and enthusiasm that reached a fever pitch on the final night of the Democratic National Convention, something that would have sounded too-good-to-be-true just over a month ago.
Her speech was biographical, centrist and patriotic, with delegates waving small and large flags on the floor of the United Center. That followed other displays of patriotism throughout the evening, including the appearance of members of Congress who are veterans and the occasional chants of “USA! USA!”
“It was the most Republican Democratic Convention we have ever seen,” Ryan Wiggins, chief of staff of The Lincoln Project, the political action group founded by moderates and conservatives to counter Donald Trump. She compared the exuberance to the GOP convention in 1980 in Detroit, where Ronald Reagan was nominated.

Stephen Colbert Pleads With Democrats After Raising $500 Million: ‘You Can Stop Texting Now’ | Video
Stephen Colbert is psyched for Kamala Harris’ history-making nomination as the Democratic pick for president, but he has notes for the party.
“The launch of Harris’ campaign has been a tremendous success. In one month, they have raised around $500 million,” Colbert said on Thursday night. “Congratulations, Democrats. You can stop texting now.”
“I keep texting back, ‘Stop,’ and I keeping getting back, ‘Oh, this is not the same person. This is a totally different person. Five dollars, please,'” the CBS host continued.
All this week, “The Late Show” has been airing live shows from Chicago as part of its DNC coverage. Colbert spent the first part of his monologue comparing and contrasting the DNC and the RNC. During its second night, the DNC crushed the RNC’s ratings by 39%, a landslide that Colbert partially credited to the speakers at these two events. While the RNC brought out Lara Trump...

The Democratic National Convention wrapped up Thursday night with Kamala Harris accepting the party’s nomination for president. It was a rousing end to a four-day party in Chicago’s United Center, one that was jam-packed with big-name speakers, bumping musical performances, and unbridled enthusiasm over Harris’ campaign, which is somehow only a month old with the election right around the corner.

Nicole Avant spent much of her childhood summers in holiday enclaves like Oak Bluffs in Martha’s Vineyard and Sag Harbor in Long Island, vacation havens created by the Black middle-class elites as they were often denied entry elsewhere.

Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday is being widely praised — even Fox News is saying a few nice things about the Vice President’s remarks.
Coming in at 40 minutes and within the primetime TV window on the all-important East Coast, Harris’ speech in front of 5000 delegates at Chicago’s United Center was full of language and pledges that would have fit in at a DNC or GOP convention in the 1990s, as Ted Johnson and I said in our story earlier tonight. As an example, her deft handling of Hamas’ murderous attack on Israel last fall, the scorched-earth Gaza War and calls for a cease-fire and return of hostages took much of the sting out of one of the sharpest divisions within the Democratic Party.

Jon Stewart ripped apart Fox News’ coverage of the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night, mocking the outlet’s incongruous treatment of the convention’s jubilant energy.
“How did Fox News experience this convention at the beginning?” Stewart asked his audience at The Daily Show, which aired live from Chicago immediately following the DNC’s conclusion. “I’ve got to be honest, I’m not sure they cared for it.”
The show then played a montage of Fox News pundits claiming “there’s not much joy in this convention hall,” saying “the vibes are off.” In one clip, Jesse Watters said, “this is probably the most boring scene I’ve ever seen in my entire life.”
“Oh, so boring,” Stewart responded. “I forgot what a daredevil like you — I forgot your life is a never-ending joyride of talking to Brit Hume in between catheter ads.”

After a star-studded and extremely enthusiastic four days of action in Chicago’s United Center, the Democratic National Convention ended on Thursday with an exclamation point on one of the most chaotic presidential nominating contests in generations.
Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the party’s 2024 nomination for president to applause that probably registered on the Richter scale and — as is tradition — a sea of balloons when her speech concluded.
Harris began by speaking about her roots as the child of immigrants in California, and her early career as a California prosecutor.

Despite weeks of rumors and unconfirmed reports that she would be performing or at least introducing Kamala Harris, Beyoncé “was never scheduled” to attend the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
“Beyonce was never scheduled to be there,” a rep for the singer told the Hollywood Reporter. “The report of a performance is untrue.”
Her non-appearance came as a surprise to many people. The 32-time Grammy-winning artist approved the Harris campaign’s use of her “Lemonade” song “Freedom” in a campaign video and has since allowed the ticket to use the song throughout their campaign.
In addition, the singer previously endorsed the Joe Biden/Harris ticket in 2000, and she performed in support of Hillary Clinton four years prior to that, on top of performing at Barack Obama’s second inauguration in 2013.

Former President Barack Obama provoked wild reactions from social media users after he made a joke about Donald Trump’s “weird obsession with crowd sizes.”
Obama made this comment about Trump on Tuesday during his speech at the Democratic National Convention.
“Here’s a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago,” the 44th U.S. president stated on Tuesday. “It has been a constant stream of gripes and grievances that – that’s actually been getting worse now that he’s afraid of losing to Kamala. There’s the childish nicknames, the crazy conspiracy theories, this weird obsession with crowd sizes.”

Democratic National Convention host Ana Navarro slammed Ann Coulter for mocking Gus Walz, the 17-year-old son of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz.
At the DNC’s third night in Chicago, Gus went viral for his emotional reaction to his father praising him, his sister Hope and mother Gwen. During his speech onstage accepting the nomination for vice president, Walz looked at his family and said, “Hope, Gus and Gwen, you are my entire world and I love you.”
When the camera cut to them, tears were flooding down the kids’ faces. Gus was so moved, he stood up and shouted repeatedly, “That’s my dad!” The moment quickly went viral as people began learning for the first time that the teenager has Adhd, a nonverbal learning disorder and an anxiety disorder.
Coulter later took to social media to mock Gus’ emotional reaction and tweeted in a now-deleted post, “Talk about weird.

By Thursday morning, it’s adrenaline (and perhaps lots of caffeine) that’s fueling “The Daily Show” team in Chicago. And yet, tonight is perhaps their biggest episode of their entire week in town for the Democratic National Convention: A live episode, with host Jon Stewart, set to air at 11:30 p.m. Et.
Hopefully that means the show will go live around that time just after Kamala Harris finishes her acceptance speech for the Democratic presidential nomination at the United Center. But as their colleagues at CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” experienced this week, the DNC makes no promises of sticking to a set timetable. “The Late Show” went with live episodes throughout the week, which means it often wasn’t going off the air — and clearing out Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre — until close to 1 a.m. local time.
“I can’t even imagine doing all the shows live!

Former Trump White House spokesperson Stephanie Grisham delivered a scathing denunciation of her former boss Donald Trump at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
The Democratic National Convention (DNC) kicked off in Chicago on Monday night and continued on Tuesday with speeches from former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and more.
In her speech, Grisham, once a devoted Trump supporter, shed light on the former president’s true character and painted a picture of a destructive leader who lacked all empathy and morals.

Hollywood is home to many experts on counter-programming but insiders behind the new film Reagan, which had its world premiere Tuesday at the town’s most iconic theater, insist that it was merely a coincidence that the event bumped up against the Democratic National Convention.
“It wasn’t intended but what the heck, that’s awesome,” offered filmmaker Sean McNamara with a smile, adding that despite missing the night’s program that featured onetime White House residents Barack and Michelle Obama, he would be watching clips once he got home. “I always watch it all day if I’m not working to try and get a sense of what everybody is saying, both Republicans and Democrats.”
McNamara, who pointed out that he’s a registered Democrat, said people are sometimes too quick to link politics to movies when sometimes those ties don’t tell the full story. “Look at the movie Lincoln,...
