Bethesda Game Studios is renowned for making great video game franchises like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. These games have made a lasting impact on the gaming community and have set the bar high for what the studio is capable of. Unfortunately, Director Todd Howard’s latest original project lacked a few things that made other gaming franchises stand out, and the gaming community is not afraid to call the developers out for their shortcomings.

Starfield had the advantage most games did not which is an extended development period, and the developers took it for granted and did not prioritize the little things like alternate dialogue for taking a certain path.

Two decades ago, if you were a part of the so-called “PC master race”, you were likely accustomed to demands for Half-Life 3. In the world of first-person shooters, few single-player campaigns have made an impact as gigantic as Half-Life 2. The game’s focus on a linear narrative from the perspective of Gordon Freeman made the experience feel like the universe revolved around you, even though you barely made a dent in a dystopian world.
The game’s success became a cultural phenomenon over the years but left a bittersweet feeling in the hearts of millions as they awaited the arrival of a much-needed sequel. Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG, Starfield, is quickly approaching the one-year mark since its release last Fall. As the studio’s first brand-new IP in years, the game saw a lot of mixed reception, with players heavily bashing Bethesda’s design choices and lack of any meaningful innovations.
However, the title’s take of a NASA-punk-inspired future and the sheer number of locations to discover brought an engaging experience for many players. Bethesda is continuously trying to make the game better, and with the upcoming Starfield Shattered Space Dlc, it seems like they’ve finally cracked the code.

From finding the right locations and cast to adapt its video game source material to combining visual effects and practical sets to bring Prime Video’s original story to life, developing “Fallout” into a hit TV show was a “high-wire act across the board,” Jonathan Nolan admitted.
Speaking in a behind-the-scenes featurette, exclusively debuting with TheWrap in the video below, the executive producer and director laid out how the production team’s hard work paid off. For starters, the Prime Video series became one of the streamer’s most watched titles and earned a total 16 Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.
“I’m so proud of what we were able to create with an incredibly talented crew, incredibly talented cast, everyone pulling together and trying to breathe life into the idea of what Los Angeles would look like 200 years after the end of the

Some games get released with years of hype and excitement behind them, only to leave fans feeling let down due to various reasons. Developers often aim high and overpromise, but the final product sometimes falls short.
However, with enough time, dedication, and updates, some games eventually live up to the grand ideas the developers once had in mind originally. No Man’s Sky and Cyberpunk 2077 are two of the best examples, but they aren’t the only ones. Here’s a look at seven more games that took years to finally live up to their promises.

Starfield, despite its promises of vast space and a gripping story, didn’t quite receive the praise Bethesda had anticipated. While there are many factors that can be debated, the bottom line is that Bethesda didn’t achieve the success it was aiming for.
Bethesda continues to support its science fiction RPG with fan mods, even though the game is far from perfect, and fans appreciate that effort. However, some players argue that the studio shouldn’t repeat the same mistakes it made with its previous two games.
Fans Don’t Want Bethesda to Repeat Skyrim and Fallout 4 Mistakes with Starfield
Starfield fans seeking to enhance their gameplay appreciate Bethesda’s focus on the Creations system. The studio periodically adds official mods, which many find valuable. However, some players feel that the same mistakes made in Skyrim and Fallout 4 are being repeated here.

The hit Amazon Prime Video series Fallout has captivated audiences with its post-apocalyptic world based on the popular video game franchise. Show producers aimed to faithfully adapt the beloved game universe while adding fresh new storylines. This careful balance resonated with both longtime fans and new viewers alike.
Showrunner Jonathan Nolan intended the series to draw inspiration from the games rather than directly replicate them. His team expanded the epic game setting into dramatic new television stories. Makeup department head Michael Harvey recalled Nolan instructing the crew to “use the game as a reference” but avoid simply “carbon copying” elements.
Despite the creators’ meticulous approach, superfan attention to detail uncovered an unexpected Easter egg. In one episode, costume designer Amy Wescott dressed a minor character named Rink similarly to Cricket from Fallout 4. Harvey’s makeup artists further echoed the game character’s appearance. Harvey admitted thinking “nobody’s ever going to catch it.

Fallout is the latest video game franchise to receive a live-action adaptation and fans were blown away by the showrunner’s attention to detail. Adapting a video game to a different medium has been challenging for most filmmakers; however, this project had the advantage of having a fan at the helm.

Todd Howard, the mastermind behind Starfield and some of the most iconic RPGs, has always had a deep fascination with space. Growing up, space exploration was more than just a distant dream for him.
As shared by him in an interview, his brother was born on the day Apollo 11 landed on the moon, and his grandfather lived near Cape Canaveral. These influences increased Howard’s curiosity about the universe, and it’s no surprise that this fascination eventually inspired Starfield, Bethesda’s once highly anticipated space exploration game.

Todd Howard and his team at Bethesda are one of the few who can have the privilege of waiting for nearly seven years before their project ‘clicks.’ That’s just the kind of reputation Howard has built over time.
His successes with the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls franchises have him carrying the hopes, dreams, and expectations of millions of players across the world on his shoulders. Todd Howard, a name synonymous with some of the most iconic RPGs ever made, has found himself in a unique position given the increasing developmental time and resources needed for big Aaa games.
The pressure of expectations, coupled with Bethesda’s reluctance to outsource its cherished franchises, may have put Howard and his team in a challenging spot. It seems that Bethesda’s adherence to a single-team approach, and not letting other studios take the reins and make spin-offs, is making the long wait times increasingly detrimental to the fans.

As Howard hinted in a June 2023 interview with IGN before the release of Starfield, there’s a growing realization that the massive success of past projects might now be slowing them down.

“I’ve always felt throughout my career that you can always get the audience to a slightly darker place if you tell them a couple of jokes along the way,” says Fallout executive producer/director Jonathan Nolan about the approach and tone the multi-Emmy-nominated Prime Video drama has taken in its debut season.
Joined by fellow EP and co-showrunner Graham Wagner and star Walton Goggins, Nolan was speaking at Deadline’s virtual Contenders Television: The Nominees event.
Portlandia alum Wagner agrees with Nolan’s Pov on mixed-genre storytelling.

The game takes players to the year 2287, where they must find their missing child after waking up inside a vault. It’s simple in roleplaying mechanics but brings an incredible depth of storytelling and content offering.

Bethesda took quite a few leaps when it came to developing Starfield, and not all of them have landed perfectly. Many fans are quite divided on the title, with some praising it for what it offers, while others lament the fact that it did not reach its full potential.
The divided fanbase comes together on one particular aspect: loading screens. They have long been the bane of gamers, and many expected advancing technology to make them a thing of the past. Sadly, they are present even in current-generation titles, and it’s causing some issues in the community.
Starfield Fans Criticize the Entry Procedure for One Particular Planet
Developers have started to mask loading screens behind in-game animations. Well, gamers are more cognizant of these masking attempts, and they have clocked that the planet of Cydonia in Starfield has one such screen, which is causing a fair bit of annoyance.

The video game industry is never static. You might expect names like Hidetaka Miyazaki to pop up when talking about a list of some of the most influential figures in this business, but they’re not the first to do so.
Still, there’s no doubt their contribution to the industry is just as important as those who came before, like Sid Meier and Shigeru Miyamoto. While the old creators laid the foundation, new ones have helped elevate the medium into what it is today.
From the creators of dark, challenging worlds to the visionaries who’ve pushed the boundaries of narrative and mechanics, here’s a list of five of the most impactful personalities in gaming in recent times.

A user on Reddit raised an interesting point about the absence of Starborn weapons in the base game of Starfield. Given how big of a role the Starborn play in the game, this omission has got fans wondering.
They noted that while the characters do have custom spacesuits and ships with specialized weapons, they lack unique personal weapons. This oversight has left many players puzzled, and they’re wondering if this can be added in future expansions.
Starfield is Missing Starborn Weapons
The user posted on r/Starfield, wondering why a faction with such advanced technology didn’t have unique weapons. They mentioned that despite the customized spacesuits and ships, their fighters use the same weapons as other factions, which is rather basic and normal. This seemed like a big oversight, which is Bethesda’s specialty these days.

When people got their first look at Starfield, they were excited to have a truly next-gen foray into the final frontier for humanity. Space has always been a topic of contention in gaming because of the limitless possibilities available on this abyssal canvas.
So, when the game finally launched, many were disappointed that the studio couldn’t fill out this canvas substantially. But, another game, which had a rocky launch, managed to redeem itself and is now also encouraging people to give the recent launch another try!
No Man’s Sky Pushes People Into Starfield’s Orbit
The similarity between the two games’ initial announcement and impression was quite apparent. Both claimed to offer players unparalleled freedom when exploring the stars. Since then, Hello Games has worked tirelessly to create the experience many expected, and that game is now directing people towards Starfield.
