Behind the scenes[]

ColdWarPlayset

The Time Zone Playset Cold War 1983 which included an unarmoured Skaldak using the pre-CG design.

This design of an Ice Warrior was intended to be used for Skaldak in the episode Cold War, but due to the physical prop being much smaller than they had wanted, the Skaldak was obscured in most shots, and when Skaldak's face was seen at the end, it was replaced entirely with CG, also changing various details from the prop as well as previous appearances of Ice Warriors in other media, such as changing the eye colour from black (as seen in the comic story Descendance) to red. However, this design was used in the Cold War Time Zone Playset 1983 from Character Options, although the eyes on this figure were painted red to more closely resemble the design seen in Cold War. The prop was evidently reused in The Rings of Akhaten.
