Assoluto Squaldon

The Assoluto Squaldon, known as the Assoluto Dragone in Japan, is the fastest car available in Rage Racer, and is Rage Racer's equivalent to the 13th Racing devil car, although it is obtainable by purchase (at a cost of 6,666,666 credits), rather than by duel, as is the case for special machines in other Ridge Racer games.

Design[]

The Squaldon appears to be inspired by two 1980s concept cars: the 1988 Pontiac Banshee IV and the Dodge M4S Turbo Interceptor, which starred in The Wraith (1986).

• "Dragone" is the Italian word for "dragon." "Squaldon" may be a mis-spelling of "squalodon," meaning "sharktooth."
• It's front end resembles the front end of the Kamata Fiera from Ridge Racers-onwards, but it's unknown if this is unintentional or a coincidence.
• It's price tag of 6,666,666 credits is a reference to the number of the beast, this indicates that the Squaldon/Dragone is the devil car of Rage Racer.
