• When you turn on App Protection, the app uses the Device Administrator permission.
• The Wi-Fi Security feature needs the location permission to get the name of the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to, even when the app is running in the background. The app doesn’t actually access or track your location.
• When you turn on Web Filtering, the app uses the Android Accessibility Service API to check links you open in supported web browsers. The app sends link addresses to SophosLabs to check for malicious, undesirable, or illegal content. Depending on the app settings, such content is blocked. No personal information is collected.
Battery and data usage
• Malware definitions update once a day to keep you protected. This uses a small amount of data.
• The initial full scan of every installed app causes a one-time increase in battery usage.
Data safety
• The app doesn't store your web browsing history.
• When the app is managed by Sophos Mobile, your organization can see details about web pages the app has blocked or warned about.

I use this on all my devices. However I ported it over to my new Oneplus 11 5G and have recently had a problem. When I reboot the new phone after applying an update Sophos continually interrupts whatever I'm doing to show a full-screen popup with "Loading, please wait." No matter what I'm doing or how often I attempt to close this title card it just pops right back up again and again. Finally I deleted the app. Will try reinstalling.

This app was excellent until the last update. Who's idea was it to add the pop-up screen telling me that the app is loading?? That pop-up makes it IMPOSSIBLE to do anything! And it either takes forever to load or it's freezing and just constantly throwing the pop-up in my face to prevent me doing anything at all .... Uninstalling what used to be an awesome utility.

Constant intrusive notifications that just sit in your notification panel and can't be removed. If you turn all notifications off, you get repeated pop-ups so you have to stop whatever you're doing to get rid of the pop-up. Uninstalled to stop the pop-ups. I don't need to know what the app is doing in the background. Get rid of the notifications and popups and I'll reinstall.

You can disable the Protection Status notification as described here: https://community.sophos.com/sophos-mobile/f/recommended-reads/139201/sophos-intercept-x-is-protecting-you-notification. If you like to have less notifications, you could also turn off scan notifications for clean apps in the app's settings.
