Morfologia
edytujDługość ciała 19,5–38 cm, ogon szczątkowy; masa ciała 265–2100 g[4][6].
Systematyka
edytujRodzaj zdefiniował w 1812 roku francuski przyrodnik Étienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire na łamach Annales du Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle[1]. Na gatunek typowy Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire wyznaczył kukanga bengalskiego (N. bengalensis).
Etymologia
edytujNycticebus: gr. νυκτι- nukti- „nocny”, od νυξ nux, νυκτος nuktos „noc”; κηβος kēbos „długoogoniasta małpa”[7].
