Veridian IV is orbited by two moons. As of the year 2371, Veridian IV was home to a pre-industrial civilization of over 230 million inhabitants. (TNG movie, novelization & comic adaptation: Generations)
After arriving on Starbase Deep Space 9 in early 2372, Worf told Miles O'Brien that the cost of saving the civilization on Veridian IV was the loss of the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D. (DS9 novelization: The Way of the Warrior)
