In the mirror universe, the ISS Miranda (NCC-1805-B) was a 25th century Terran Empire starship, a tier 1 Miranda-class[1] (Reliant-subclass[2]) frigate[3] in Imperial Starfleet service in the 2400s decade. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Defend the Beta Ursae Sector Block")

The 2260s-era USS Miranda.

In the primary universe, the USS Miranda (NCC-1800) was named for a character from William Shakespeare's play The Tempest. Miranda was the daughter of Prospero. (ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed.)

In a permutation of the mirror universe were the Captain James O'Brien wrested control of the Terran Rebellion from General "Smiley" O'Brien and founded the Second Terran Empire[4], the ISS Miranda, with the NCC-1805 registry number and "-B" suffix, had entered service by the 2400s. This ship was part of O'Brien's forces invading Cardassian Union space in the primary universe, harassing Federation and allied shipping lanes. Later in 2409 and from 2410, the ISS Miranda (NCC-1805-C) represented its class during Terran incursions. (STO - The Sphere mission: "Mirror Invasion")
