Wikidata:Property proposal/Jewish Museum Berlin object ID
Jewish Museum Berlin object ID (JMB object ID)
editOriginally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Authority control
Motivation
editOver 10,000 objects in a database, many of them already loaded into Wikidata. Most of the JMB items are in the public domain, such as images of people and documents, as seen in the examples above. Please feel free to modify this proposal. RAN (talk) 20:20, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
Discussion
edit- Support Nice that so many are already in Wikidata. ArthurPSmith (talk) 16:55, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support
Strong oppose- Identifiers should start with
jmb-obj-
. Like this, you will no longer confuse with the other property. - The formatterURL was copied, but not corrected.
- The RegEx should be
jmb-obj-[1-9]\d{0,5}
in the allowed values field. - Your examples all start with "https", but don't match in formatter URL.
- Identifiers should start with
- Cordially.—Eihel (talk) 08:07, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- When you find a typo, just correct it! That is why I wrote "Please feel free to modify this proposal" The correction has been made, are you opposed for other reasons? --RAN (talk) 21:32, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hello first RAN Recently, when I correct the expected completeness field and others, some replace my corrections with the old values, while my fix is obvious, so I avoid error propagation in production. In addition, I also avoid offending sensibilities by correcting too much the property propositions. I "propose and you dispose", that is the reason for my vote. But since you invite me, I finish my corrections according to my last writings. Would that be okay with you ? —Eihel (talk) 08:06, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

- @Eihel: Since we changed this identifier to please the dissenter, and added "jmb-obj-" to each identifier number, we need to switch the other property Property:P6214 to match this one. by adding "jmb-pers-". Is that possible, or is it too late once it is created? Having two schemes for the same database will confuse everyone, especially me, since I am the only one adding the info from the museum. The changes were made to please someone who probably will not be contributing to the project, but made to change their vote, blocking the creation. --RAN (talk) 18:15, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ): Look at the identifiers of Wikidata:Property proposal/LombardiaBeniCulturali archive producer IDs, they all start with MID, but you can see that MID is kept. The other property should have
jmb-pers-
, because it's part of the identifier. —Eihel (talk) 18:22, 5 February 2021 (UTC)- @Eihel: Can you make the switch at the other property? There are less than a dozen entries so far. --RAN (talk) 18:40, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
