Rohit Pawar could become CM, says Pawar
Rohit Pawan, a first time MLA from Jamkhed constituency, has been playing an active part in the growth of NCP (SP) after its split.
RECALLING HOW he had become Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, NCP (S-P) national chief Sharad Pawar today said that his grandnephew, MLA Rohit Pawar, could become the chief minister.
“After being an MLA for five years, I got one or another post in the government. I became Minister of State for Home, then Minister of State for Agriculture. After the Vasantdada government fell, I became the CM. And not just once, I became the CM four times,” Pawar said in Jamkhed, Ahmednagar today.
Referring to his grandnephew’s tenure, Pawar said, ”Rohit will serve you for first five years, and then dedicate himself in the service of Maharashtra, which will be recorded in state’s history.”
Rohit Pawar is a first time MLA from Jamkhed constituency, Ahmednagar district. He has been playing an active part in the growth of NCP (SP) after its split. He also played a crucial role in Supriya Sule’s victory against her sister-in-law and Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar. Party sources said he has always been rated highly by Sharad Pawar.
