History

In January 1975, RN Homecare was founded by J. Mark Baiada in Philadelphia, PA as a home-based health services provider.[2] [3] The company was soon operating under the name Bayada Nurses, and in January 2012, the company changed its name to BAYADA Home Health Care [4]

That same month, BAYADA Home Health Care acquired NurseFinders Home Care, a provider of nurses and caregivers with 16 locations in nine states.[5]

The company also offers non-medical assistance with activities of daily living for adults and seniors, including self-care and household support services; and nursing, therapeutic, and assistive home health care services for children under the age of 18. It also provides end-of-life medical, social, and spiritual care services; and education, support, and assistance that enable clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities to acquire, maintain, and improve skills related to activities of daily living. [7]

In October 2011, four BAYADA Home Health Care offices were named to the 2011 HomeCare Elite™, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies based on quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.[8] On September 26th, 2012 BAYADA Home Health Care was ranked number 21 for the largest employers of the Philadelphia region. .[9]
