About you denial of a request for creation on 2008-01-24

Yesterday, 2008-01-24, I added a request for creation of an article on a sofware title called MagicDisc. You have denied the request and referred me to the notability guidelines.

What I do not understand is the difference between this specific piece of software, which actually has been referred to in Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_image_software and does have an "empty" article, and similar competitors. As I had written in my request for creation, if an article on the Daemon-Tools Suite is "encyclopedic" so is an article on MagicDisc.

Moreover, my request article was in a rather unbiased tone similar to many other articles on software products already present on Wikipedia.

As for the notability bit, this piece of software is quite as "notable" as any other software with a purpose, e.g. Microsoft Windows, Winamp, the Bourne Again Shell, the C Shell, OpenBSD, IBM z/OS, Dilo web browser, Mozilla FireFox, PuTTY, the OpenSSH suite and others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.147.204.123 (talk) 11:08, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you feel that i made an error (which i very well could have, I am only human) than re-submit your request and i will take another look, or let another editor look it over. Tiptoety talk 14:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

I see you are seeking to adopt. Am I good enough? KC109 (talk) 19:51, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I am, and of course! There is no requirements for adoption, anyone can request to be adopted, and I am willing. Tiptoety talk 19:57, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
ThanksKC109 (talk) 20:01, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great, where are you wanting to start? You can start off quick and move right into creating articles, we can take it a bit slower by going over policies, or you can work on doing some newpage and recent change patrolling (ridding wikipedia of vandals). I am not sure what you are interested in doing here. Tiptoety talk 20:05, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm interested in the whole getting rid of vandals thing. KC109 (talk) 20:06, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, i notice that you have already been doing a little of that on your own, do you currently use any tools (automated systems) to do your vandal fighting? Tiptoety talk 20:08, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not really, no, I just go to recent changes and look for page blankings and such —Preceding unsigned comment added by KC109 (talkcontribs) 20:08, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, some tools only work with certain web browsers, do you use internet explorer, or firefox? Tiptoety talk 20:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Explorer —Preceding unsigned comment added by KC109 (talkcontribs) 20:13, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Im sorry i have to go can we talk later? KC109 (talk) 20:16, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can we keep talking about this now? KC109 (talk) 16:20, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Hey there, I'm writing to inform you that I have withdrawn my request for adminship, which was currently standing at 11 supports, 22 opposes and 6 neutrals. This count could have been so much better if I had understood policy, although I believe that 17 questions is a lot to ask of a user's first RfA. I will take on all comments given at the RfA and will endeavour to meet the high expectations of the RfA voters. WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDENplay it cool. 21:19, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA

Thanks for your support, I wasn't expecting to be running so quickly, but I got an offer of a nom out of the blue and went with it. I didn't want to be seen soliciting or canvassing. Your questions are in hand and I hope the correct result is reached. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 01:49, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

Thank you for voting in my RfA, which closed unsuccessfully with 25 support, 18 oppose, and 6 neutral. Thanks for stating your rationales why I should not be granted this time and I'll try my best to deal with it. I'll look forward working with you. --BritandBeyonce (talk) 07:12, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA nom.

Uhhh...no I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know. It's another guy from the Green Bay Packers WikiProject. You have no idea how humbled I am. :-) Burner0718 (talk) 19:30, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rogue non-admins

what's that all about? WEBURIEDOURSECRETSINTHEGARDENplay it cool. 20:14, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thx

I have the mop but can you search the RFA meeting shown to find the bucket?
<font=3> Thanks for your support, my request for adminship passed 60/0/0 yesterday!

I want to thank Mrs.EasterBunny and Royalbroil for nominating me, those who updated the RfA tally, and everyone for their support and many kind words. To paraphrase a president ... I wish my mum and dad could see the comments made. My dad would be so proud to see the comments ... and my mum would have believed them". I will do my best to use the new tools carefully and responsibly (and you may be surprised to find that I have not deleted all of the pages by accident..... yet).

Thanks again, Victuallers (talk) 20:51, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help yourself to the bucket... one! ... I said ONE! Thanks for the feedback ... I wasn't sure if anyone had played with it. AFC

Oops, sorry about that, Wikipedia didn't show an edit conflict and we most likely made the edit at around the same time. Thanks for fixing it. Happy editing :) --Hdt83 Chat 02:10, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, yea, i have had that happen before while using the script. See ya around! Cheers, Tiptoety talk 02:12, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thank-spam

Tiptoety, I wish to tender my sincere thanks for your support in my successful request for adminship, which ended with 37 supports, 2 opposes, and 2 neutral. The results of the RfA are extremely bittersweet because of the recent departure of my nominator, Rudget. Hopefully I can live up to his and your expectations. I would especially like to thank Epbr123 and TomStar81 for mentioning that they were preparing to offer me a nomination. The past week has been one of the most stressful weeks in my life, and I appreciate your vote of confidence in me. If you ever need anything, just get in touch. -MBK004 21:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE:User wikipedia/rollback

Wow, you caught that change quick, no later than 3 seconds and I "have new message". Thanks, I'm glad you like the new version, you should also be able to have a little icon on the top of your userpage like Admins do, if you want. Cheers! -- penubag  00:45, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just created a template that lets you do it, try adding {{rollback}} to your userpage. -- penubag  01:01, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
EDIT: The image is overlapping with the lock symbol, let me fix that -- penubag  01:03, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! =) -- penubag  01:06, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Smile!

It was the first thing I could think of. :) Acalamari 02:57, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good. :) Acalamari 03:01, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AFC

Thanks for the star. I like to find useful bits amoungst the garbage. Sometimes there is a real gem! That's what makes WP:AFC work attractive. If you don't have enough to do, go back and look at some of that stuff from 2006. There is still a couple of months worth of contributions to sort through. Creating AFC stuff also makes you a magnet for speedy delete and copyvio warnings. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:22, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RFA

Tiptoety, Thank you for your support in my RFA which passed 43/0/1. I would like to especially thank Bibliomaniac15 for being my nominator and admin coach. I would also like to thank Rudget for being my co-nominator. I'm sure that I can live up to the community's expectations as an administrator, and not totally mess everything up. Thanks again for your support! Malinaccier (talk) 17:22, 26 January 2008 (UTC) [reply]

My RFA

Thanks!
[[User:Tiptoety|Tiptoety]], thank you for showing your support in my RFA which passed with 38 support, 0 oppose, and 0 neutral! I also want to give special thanks to my Admin Coach and nominator, Useight for all of his help and support. I promise that I'll give my best effort as an admin, and I hope that your confidence in me proves to be justified. If I can ever be of any help, please let me know. In the mean time, I have some cleaning to do.

Have a great day! Jauerbackdude?/dude. 20:10, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone complained that a user is blanking his own page. But this shows that he is receiving the warnings. This is good, not bad! Whoaslow (talk) 03:59, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
