SeeqPod is a search engine specifically for indexing and finding playable search results including audio, video & podcasts that are publicly accessible on the world wide web. SeeqPod crawls the entire Internet as an information location system, providing search results, similar to Google or Yahoo.
SeeqPod enables users to search for and discover artists and songs using patented language independent algorithms. Just like Google and other search engines, SeeqPod crawls, indexes, searches and displays search results, and anyone can submit URLs to be crawled and indexed.
Other Search Verticals
SeeqPod looks to broaden its reach to provide a wider range of search results. In addition to Playable Search it has created search verticals for Finance and Wikipedia, and plans to explore other verticals as well. In its FAQ it says, “SeeqPod understands that today and in the future search results need to be played in order for a user to determine if they’re relevant."[1]
iPhone & iPod Touch
While there is nothing iPhone-specific about SeeqPod, it is notable as the first web-based application for the iPhone or iPod Touch that allows users to play search results.
Although SeeqPod does not host content it encourages the adherence to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Courts have repeatedly held that the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the doctrine of Fair Use shield search engines from liability.
