The Papa Louie series is a video game series created by Flipline Studios. The games combine restaurant management^[1], cooking, and strategy gameplay as users run a restaurant and fulfill orders for customers. The Papa Louie games were designed as a free-to-play Flash game. The first installment, Papa's Pizzeria, was released on August 7, 2007.^[2] Users can play it on the Flipline Studios website and other websites that host free-to-play games. The Papa's series was initially impacted by the Adobe Flash shut down of December 31, 2020, but websites such as Cool Math Games were able to get them up and running again using AwayFL.^[3]

Each Papa Louie game opens with an introduction scene. Players are introduced to successful chef Papa Louie. He is leaving his restaurant chain in the hands of the player.^[4] A tutorial introduces players to stations within the restaurant that each handle an aspect of creating the food.^[5] Players will learn how to fulfill orders for hungry customers as they ask for different variations, including flavors, toppings, and more.^[6] More of these add-ons are slowly introduced as players level up and progress. Different customers are unlocked as the player serves more people. The better the execution of the order, the more pleased the customer will be, and the higher they will tip.^[7] These customers often make guest appearances in other Papa's Games.

In addition to cooking, players also need to design the restaurant and make upgrades. These upgrades can be purchased with the money earned from running the restaurant.^[8]

After Papa's Pizzeria was released, Flipline Studios began to expand. In total, there are 16 different games that fall under the Papa Louie series. Due to their names all ending in -ia, this franchise is often referred to as the 'Gameria' series.^[9]

In 2014, multiple games in the Gameria series were released on Google Play and the Apple App Store, making them accessible on iOS. The iOS versions were designed for small touchscreens to make the games playable for users on an iPhone and iPad.^[10][11] Throughout the years, these games performed successfully. For example, in 2018, Papa's Scooperia HD was in the top 10 in paid iPad games in the UK, and Papa's Freezeria To Go! was in the top 10 in paid iPhone games in the UK.^[12] The success of these games has continued for nearly a decade, with Papa's Freezeria To Go! being the sixth top paid iPhone game in 2023, according to Apple.^[13]

Papa Louie games have continued to expand to new platforms. Papa's Freezeria To Go! became available for purchase on Steam in 2023 (also known as Papa's Freezeria Deluxe).^[14] This version of the game was the same as its Adobe Flash predecessor, but with slight enhancements, such as collectible stickers that the player earns after getting achievements and mini-games that can grant players different rewards. Players are also introduced to holidays, where they are encouraged to decorate the restaurant according to a theme. This will make customers happy.^[15]

One of the in-game mini-games was expanded upon in Slider Escape, a Flipline Studios creation separate from the Gameria universe. However, there are recognizable references and creations that make appearances in Slider Escape.^[16]
