Anita is a nationally known journalist. having worked for such publications as the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Vanity Fair and Time before joining Deadline in 2013. She is the former editor of The Hollywood Reporter and the former film editor of Variety, and was the first reporter in the country to cover entertainment marketing on a daily basis. Anita previously penned regular columns for Entertainment Weekly and Premiere magazines and served as a weekly commentator on NPR. Prior to that, she worked as an editor and reporter in Chicago covering the advertising and marketing business for Advertising Age magazine. She also covered the commercial production industry at Backstage / Shoot. She has edited four books -- two of which were about the entertainment industry and on The New York Times Bestseller list. She’s also written and sold screenplays as well as worked in marketing and private investigation. She has devoted herself tirelessly to being an advocate for crime victim -- while she has received many awards, she is most proud of the Courage Award from the National Center for Victims of Crime.
