File:Davit bagration mukhraneli 080208.jpg-- Geagea (talk) 23:50, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Geagea,
I had no intention to vandalise or to do anything wrong: the picture intends to depict Prince Davit of Bagration and Commons allows to modify the pictures that are already uploaded. Doing so, I tried to get the picture of Prince Davit instead of the full picture of the other gentlemen. As it is not, as I did not upload the primary file, my work, I cannot publish it as it.
On the other hand, the author of the file explicitly said the work can be used in any way, so I thought it would be more suitable to depict only the person this picture represents in all the wikipedia articles where you can find it rather than all the people appearing there.
Thus, I ask you to reconsider the modifications I did to the picture for a better representation of its contents in Wikipedia, where the image is intended to be.

- The picture is not depict Prince Davit of Bagration. And Commons does not allows to modify the pictures that are already uploaded. The only modification allowed are minor improvements, removing watermarks etc. Please read Overwriting existing files. If the file you uploaded is your own work please uploaded it in a new filename and suggest the file instead the current file. That is the way it's working. -- Geagea (talk) 00:30, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- Yes it depicts David of Bagration, who is the only one of these men who is sitting. The others are neither described in the picture status nor on the articles using the image. Just have a look at them. I cutted the picture and enlihghted the main character of it, which is the Georgian Prince that gives its name to the picture. If you do not trust my word, have a look at these pictures: he is Prince Davit of Bagration, I know him personally!. http://postimg.org/image/wv75eqf47/ http://postimg.org/image/ky2nlxxi7/ (the man at the right) And the website of the Royal House: http://www.royalhouseofgeorgia.ge/royal-house/head-of-the-royal-house-of-georgia
As I said, I am NOT the author of the modified picture so I CANNOT publish it under a new name under the same license, as I would be lying!! But Commons gives the option: "Upload a new version of this file" which is what I did (NOT as a new picture, but as a modification of the main one). Look at the articles. If it was my own wrk, I would have published even better pictures, but I am limited by commons rules here. So this is the only way to only depict Prince Davit.
Best regards, Alexeinikolayevichromanov (talk) 00:44, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
- The other participians in the photo are notable as well - Chokhosnebi. you can upload new file and use this file as a source. -- Geagea (talk) 00:49, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
