Modder Creates VR Mod for PC Version of ‘System Shock’ Remake [Trailer]

Published

on

Nightdive’s System Shock remake is cool and all, but it’d be really cool if there was a way to play it in VR, now wouldn’t it? Lucky for you, Modder Ashok has developed such a VR mod for the PC version of System Shock, adding support for 6DOF motion control to the game, along with gestures for motion controllers, improved object interaction, room scale and physical ducking support and more.

The mod is actually a plugin for UEVR, a frontend that will make certain Unreal Engine VR enabled. You just need a profile for that specific game. Speaking of which, you can download Ashok’s profile for System Shock here.

Along with the profile, you’ll need UEVR Nightly 940 or later to get things going. There’s also an optional PAK mod that adapts the buttons to the Meta Quest Touch Controller. As mentioned, this mod is currently only available for the PC version of the System Shock remake. However, community group Flat2VR Studios recently expressed interest in porting the game to Meta Quest 3 or Playstation VR 2, but would need Nightdive’s help in order to see it to fruition.

The System Shock remake is currently available on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG, as well as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and the Xbox Series.

Thanks to MIXED Reality News for the heads up!
