Welcome to Muley's Western Illustrations
Description
, Smokey the Cowhorse, that sparked my interest in horses and the Old West - I can still remember those illustrations! I also learned to break horses from "Smokey" and a year later I went to work on a local horse farm.
After high school I enlisted in the military for three years - the only time in my life I wasn't around horses. After my discharge I tried my hand at riding saddle broncs in New Mexico rodeos.
Leaving the rodeo circuit a year later (and a lump or two sorer...) I returned to Pennsylvania, bought a horse, and took a job as the Chief of Police in Jermyn, PA. I continued to sketch, raise horses, and start a family for six years before joining the State of Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. I moved my family to Allentown and went to school at Penn State, where I learned to be a farrier
