This web site was developed for kids, teachers, and parents to find helpful, kid-friendly places on the Internet. It is a virtual school of subjects and topics for grades Kindergarten through middle school. Even some high school students have been able to use the site to locate information for their projects. The science fair page gets lots of hits. Designed by an elelmentary school teacher, the site also includes student-made word games, explorer poems, examples of many kinds of poetry, the hot air balloon project, and the quilt project. There are summer reading lists as well as ideas for making edible cells. The math manipulatives page offers games, charts, cards, and activities to make math fun and more hands-on. Because the site comes from New Hampshire, there is a page of NH links and Kidspiration worksheets. Mrs. Mitchell has designed some student worksheets for electricity and colonial America studies. Because of her fondness for Canada (and her friends in Ontario and Manitoba), she has designed Canada pages with pictures, links and some activities to help students learn more about this beautiful country. Also included are suggestions for teachers and parents on technology integration, internet projects, designing web pages, rubrics, and first-day-of-school ideas as well as how to learn about Internet hoaxes and urban legends.
