Dr. William Berry founded the Greater Houston Vein Clinic to help people look and feel good about themselves, as well as lead healthy and productive lives. One of his greatest attributes was his compassion for other people. The lessons he learned and passed on to others were those of family, compassion and dedication to a job well done. Compassion for our patients is our priority at the Greater Houston Vein Clinic. Though Dr. Berry has passed, his hard work and principles continue to guide us today.
Dr. William Berry received his medical education at the prestigious Baylor University College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center. He specialized in cardiovascular surgery at the Texas Medical Center under the direction of world-renowned surgeon Dr. Michael DeBakey. He published article in medical journals worldwide. He invented the 'Berry Sternal Needle Holder' which for more than 20 years has been the most popular instrument of its kind in the world.
Trained in cardiovascular surgery, Dr. Berry spent over 30 years caring for heart patients. He started two heart surgery programs and harvested over 100,000 veins for bypass surgery. He was a clinical associate professor of surgery at the University of Texas Hermann Hospital.
