St Ives is a hugely popular holiday resort catering for a wide range of visitors. It has long held artistic associations and these are very much alive and well in the town with the Barbara Hepworth Museum, Leach Pottery and Tate St Ives the star attractions for those with an interest in St Ives's artistic heritage.

The town itself is located in a wonderful spot on Cornwall's north coast with extensive golden beaches to be found in the vicinity. The coast road from St Ives downwards towards St Just and Botallack offers some of the best views in Cornwall with moorland, mining villages and coastline all combined for effect!

The beach at Porthmeor has lifeguards and offers good north-coast surf conditions though it is equally popular for its golden sands with families.

St Ives was awarded the accolade of "Seaside Town of the Year" at the end of 2007.
