Description

Amtec was founded in 1984 by engineers working out of the University of Manchester. As business expanded Dr Les Callow and Dr Jane Lomas developed both the instrumentation and consultancy arms simultaneously. After 1994, instrumentation was developed for in-house use only, as new EU legislation made manufacture of short production runs uneconomic. Since then the consultancy and laboratory investigations sides of the business have been expanded, based on the use of novel in-house electronic techniques.
