Template:Sharksportal The Arabian smooth-hound, Mustelus mosis, is a houndshark of the family Triakidae, found on the continental shelves of the tropical western Indian Ocean from the Red Sea and East Africa to the Maldives, India and Sri Lanka between latitudes 30° N and 7° N, at depths of between 20 and 250 m. Its length is up to 1.5 m.

The Arabian smooth-hound is without spots and often has a white-tipped first dorsal fin, adults with a hard, bone-like growth embedded in the snout, readily felt by pinching it. It occurs in continental waters, both inshore and offshore and is sometimes seen on coral reefs. It feeds on small bottom fishes, molluscs, and crustaceans. It is caught by shore anglers, and readily lives in captivity. Utilized as a foodfish.

Reproduction is viviparous.

Coloration is grey or grey-brown dorsally, white ventrally, with pectoral fins with pale trailing edges.
