EatingInIndia was conceptualised when four entrepreneurs sat chatting about the variety of food in India over a rainy weekend sipping hot ‘chai’. What Ambuj, Mehul, Rashmi and Shraddha realised was that they did not have a definitive guide to what’s really good and what’s over-rated in their cities, especially since Mehul and Rashmi had recently been to ‘aamchi Mumbai’ and spent hours in the rickshaw hunting for a restaurant in peak hour traffic. Okay, there are probably scores on every street but we had no way of telling which would have made eating out an experience.

Born was the idea of EatingInIndia.com where one would not only post the restaurants and their description but also allow individuals to give their verdict – sing praises or shun it as overrated. Who knows, together we might just change the experience of Eating In India!

This would be a complete restaurant search engine for the locals who are tired of going to the same old place at the ‘nukkad’ or a 5-minute walk down the street and to those who are new to the city and would like to find and taste the best of it!
